This free scheme, the only one of its kind in France, offers a year of cross-curricular reinforcement for vocational baccalaureate holders to maximise their chances of continuing their studies in higher education.
Some twenty students have already completed the programme in Nantes. In September 2024, the Parcours Sirius will move to Paris, with a new format.
At the start of the new academic year, Parcours Sirius will launch its very first class in Paris, on Audencia’s premises. Launched 2 years ago in Nantes, the Parcours Sirius is a free one-year programme aimed at students with a vocational baccalaureate who are motivated to pursue higher education but do not feel confident enough to succeed.
- Revealing students’ potential and encouraging them to continue their studies after a vocational baccalaureate
During the course, from September to May, students are accompanied by Audencia professionals and professors. The courses, punctuated by work placements in companies and coaching sessions, are organised around 4 key areas: reinforcement of academic skills, personal development activities, discovery of the professional world and international and cultural exposure.
The aim of this free year is to enable students to strengthen their skills and give them all the keys they need for a smoother transition to the next stage of their studies, in the course of their choice. According to a Céreq study, only 16% of vocational baccalaureate holders in France go on to take a higher education qualification, most of them BTS.
At the end of the programme, students have a dedicated competitive entrance exam to enter Audencia’s Bachelor in Management programme. However, they still have to sit the same oral exams as applicants outside the Sirius programme.
- A winning bet for higher education
It’s a formula that has proved its worth and is changing the game, since 100% of the students in the first year of the Sirius programme in Nantes wanted to continue their studies, and 75% entered the school’s Bachelor in Management programme after passing the competitive entrance exam.
Today, 75% of the current intake have applied to continue their studies at Audencia.
- 100% of tuition fees covered by the Audencia Foundation
The tuition fees for the Sirius programme are fully covered by the Audencia Foundation. Graduates may also apply for an internal living grant, awarded on the basis of social and geographical criteria, to help finance their day-to-day living expenses.
Students who go on to the Bachelor in Management programme will receive financial aid to cover 90% of their tuition fees, as well as the possibility of a living grant. Non-grant-holders may apply for a merit-based grant.
Finally, the course can be taken under an apprenticeship contract from the 2nd year, which means that the tuition fees are paid by the company, while the students are paid at the same time.
