Audencia Student Health Representatives: promoting health and well-being on campus

Inform, listen, prevent: at Audencia, five students—Anouk Femenias, Cathia Adrianome, Nadà Amar, Melissa Palmerini, and Marie Bouchand—run prevention initiatives throughout the year focusing on mental health, addiction, and everyday well-being. Supported by the School and Maëlig Le Dû, Audencia’s nurse, they make student health a shared priority on all campuses.

What actions have you taken this year?

We first presented our role during the back-to-school lectures, then participated in Student Life Day and the Village des Associations, where we conducted a vox pop aimed at raising awareness of the ERS (“do you know about the ERS? “) and to survey new students arriving at the school about their views on student life and parties (“what makes a good party for you?”) and to start warning them about the dangers of alcohol, particularly in view of the upcoming student parties.

We then ran several prevention stands: risks related to addiction, mental health, and Pink October, in partnership with the student association Cheer’Up. We distributed more than 750 prevention kits on the Atlantic, Media, and City campuses.

For No Smoking Month, we set up stands with information brochures on the dangers of smoking and common misconceptions about quitting. We also handed out envelopes containing tips on how to get through the month without smoking. We wanted to take a fun approach to this topic, so we came up with activities such as “smell bingo” (knowing that smokers have less sense of smell and taste than non-smokers) to interact more easily with students.

What impacts have you noticed on campus life?

We are seeing a real awareness, especially among pre-master’s and M1 students. Internal resources such as BeeSafe and the infirmary are better known, but external services, such as the Student Health Service (SSE), are still relatively unknown. We are doing our best to remain accessible, particularly through publications in English and our Instagram account @audencia_ers, but reaching international students remains a challenge.

What steps can be taken to further improve student well-being?

Audencia already offers a number of relevant initiatives, but we would like to go further. We are considering implementing a system to prevent and combat harassment and cyberbullying, in order to improve the safety and well-being of all students.

The next generation is getting ready!

In December, Audencia will be recruiting the new team of Student Health Representatives for 2026. If you want to get involved, listen, take action, and make a difference on campus, now is the time to join a meaningful and people-oriented mission. Send your application to medical@audencia.com
