On Tuesday 1 July, the Audencia Foundation brought together some forty graduates, donors, students and staff in Nantes for a new edition of the Soirée des Engagés. It was a powerful moment, a moment of suspension, where words resonate, experiences touch, and commitment takes on its full meaning. Here’s a look back at an evening of commitment and powerful stories.
6 students, 6 powerful stories
At the heart of the evening, six students shared their stories. Thanks to the support of the Audencia Foundation, they were able to overcome obstacles, open up new perspectives and reveal their full potential.
Their names are Sofia, Caleb, Alexis, Florian, Melvyn and Nejla. They have dared to believe in their dreams, taken on challenges they sometimes thought insurmountable, and embarked on ambitious career paths. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, their ambitions have become a reality.
Sofia AMEUR, student on the Grande École programme
Throughout her studies, Sofia has had to cope with an invisible disability. Assisted by Audencia’s Mission Handicap and supported by the Foundation, she has been able to fulfil her potential as a student. In November, she will be heading to New York for a V.I.E. An exemplary career path, guided by determination and resilience.
Caleb KPAN, student on the Grande École Programme
Having arrived from Abidjan to study in Nantes, 6,936 kilometres from home, Caleb was able to take advantage of a grant from the Foundation that enabled him to devote 100% of his time to his academic project. A courageous decision, made possible by the solidarity of a community.
Melvyn LE BAIL, Bachelor in Management
After completing a vocational baccalaureate in car maintenance, Melvyn joined the Parcours Sirius, a 100% free social inclusion programme designed to reveal the potential of young people from a wide range of backgrounds. This transitional year opened the doors to the Bachelor in Management programme, which he will be joining next year on the English Track.
Alexis BOUTROS, Bachelor in Management student
Rather than opt for a traditional work placement in a company, Alexis chose to become an entrepreneur. With the support of the Foundation, he set up Hêtre Sciure, his own traditional smoking business. A bold move, combining passion and local commitment.
Florian LALOI, Bachelor in Management student
He too has swapped his work placement for an entrepreneurial adventure. Alongside Sarah Echcharraq and Romain Landreau, Florian co-founded Connectra, a start-up that helps restaurant owners boost their digital visibility. It’s a project that embodies the spirit of initiative and the desire to make an impact.
Nejla ZNAIDI, Grande École Programme student
Supported during her studies by the Foundation, Nejla has never forgotten what she received. A future graduate, she is continuing her commitment by treating guests at Foundation events to her sweet and savoury creations. It’s a wonderful way of giving back what she has received.
An evening of commitment!
The Engagés evening would not have been the same without the warm welcome we received from Thomas Mathieu (Audencia Bachelor 2012 graduate) at his offices in Nantes.
The evening was a perfect illustration of what collective commitment can achieve: projects that come to life, young people who find their way, a community of solidarity that takes action. Thank you to all those who make these paths possible.
And let’s not forget the invaluable participation of Valentine Boisgontier and Ashley Olinga, two students from Audencia SciencesCom, who hosted the evening and conducted the student interviews. With freshness and professionalism, they brought out the best in each of the testimonials.
THANK YOU! Thanks to you, the generosity and commitment of our community have taken on their full meaning.
